The Michael Aram Cast Iron Collection takes its inspiration from the uniquely striking textures created by the iron forging process. Random and abrupt yet exquisitely tactile, this pattern depicts the spirit seen in so much of Michael's metalwork. The design is also carefully crafted in terms of color and surface detail to integrate perfectly with any of Michael's other dinnerware patterns. The unified body shapes used in all of the motifs make mixing and matching the patterns a seamless proposition.
"My love for texture is profoundly expressed in this pattern. Cast iron is the most elemental material yet the surface has always held such fascination for me. I find it gruff and even gently abrasive. I love the idea of bringing that inspiration into a Limoges dinnerware pattern, releasing all the formal constraints we usually associate with that world."
